Fairfielder Dan Walsh named vice president at Bridgeport Hospital

BRIDGEPORT, CT (Dec. 14, 2017) – Daniel Walsh of Fairfield has been promoted to vice president, Support Services and Facilities at Bridgeport Hospital. He was previously director of Patient Experience and Yale New Haven Health’s Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull.

In his new role, Walsh has responsibility for Environmental Services; Food and Nutrition; Security; Parking; Emergency Preparedness; Facilities Management, Design and Construction; capital equipment planning; space; real estate; Information Technology Services; and Materials Management.

Walsh completed his undergraduate education at the State University of New York in Purchase. He received a master’s degree in public health policy and management from New York Medical College.

Walsh joined Yale New Haven Health in 2006 as assistant manager of Admitting at Greenwich Hospital, where he advanced to senior human resources representative in 2007 and manager of Admitting in 2008. He served as project manager of the Epic electronic medical record access team for the health system 2010 - 2013 before becoming associate director of Patient Relations at Bridgeport Hospital. He was promoted to director of Patient Experience in 2014 and added the title of director of Park Avenue Medical Center when that facility opened in 2016.

Recognized by Fairfield County Business Journal in 2010 as one of “40 under 40” up and coming business leaders, Walsh graduated from the Bridgeport Regional Business Council’s Leadership Greater Bridgeport program in 2015 and subsequently became a board member of the program. He is also a member of the Fairfield rotary. Walsh lives in Fairfield with his wife Jessica and their two children Genevieve and Finnian, and two dogs Helga and Fred.
