Bridgeport, CT (July 21, 2020) – Bridgeport Hospital has announced that Victor Morris, MD, will expand his current responsibilities to become the chief medical officer and senior vice president for Medical Affairs for Bridgeport Hospital, effective immediately.
As CMO, Dr. Morris will continue working closely with senior leaders and physicians to advance strategic clinical initiatives on both the Bridgeport and Milford campuses, improve clinical performance and ensure that Bridgeport Hospital meets the highest standards in quality, safety and patient-centered care.
In 2019, Dr. Morris was appointed chief medical officer of Milford Hospital to oversee clinical aspects prior to the Hospital’s integration into Bridgeport Hospital and Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS). “We are thrilled and fortunate that Victor is able to bring his extensive clinical and leadership experience to Bridgeport Hospital,” said Anne Diamond, president of Bridgeport Hospital. “His 30 years of health system experience and most recently his exceptional work leading the medical staff through the Milford Hospital integration, he has the depth and breadth of experience to initiate change and elevate the quality of patient care.”
A native of California and graduate of Stanford University and the University of California, San Diego Medical School, Dr. Morris began with Yale New Haven Health 30 years ago as a resident in Internal Medicine. After serving as the chief medical resident at Yale, he has served in many leadership positions within Yale New Haven Hospital and the Health System including assistant chief of staff, director of the Hospitalist Services, vice president of Physician and Patient Access and associate chief medical officer at Yale New Haven Hospital.
A board certified internist, Dr. Morris continues to practice and teach and has won multiple awards and recognition for his talents. He lives in Guilford with his wife Jensa, a fellow physician, and their three children. In his free time, Dr. Morris is an avid runner, aspiring fly fisherman and overall sports enthusiast.
