African-American surgeons celebrated

Bridgeport Hospital’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee is hosting the traveling exhibit entitled Opening Doors: Contemporary African-American Academic Surgeons, Dec. 23 – Jan. 30, in the lobby mezzanine near the skybridge entrance from the Kaulbach Parking Pavilion.

On loan from the History of Medicine Division of the National Library of Medicine and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History and Culture, the exhibit celebrates African-American clinicians mentoring young African-Americans pursuing medical careers. It is also a precursor to the hospital’s observance of Black History Month in February.
